Purple Tartan – 2025 – Each layer of the skirt is attached only to the layer directly above, and then only with chord (sewn in a Y shape), this is shown in the sketch. By keeping the layers almost entirely separate, each is able to have independent movement which makes for a very interesting dance. The pleats and peek-a-boo holes accentuate this, and bring a very modern element to what would have otherwise been quite an old fashioned skirt.
