Velvet capes – 2025 – Created for a wedding party, these four capes, of three designs, were all black velvet with a black lining. The most challenging design was the superhero cape which had no fastening at the front, instead each pleated element sat on their shoulders. In order to keep the cape up without fastening it to itself or the clothes of the wearer, moulded fishing weights were inserted just behind the pleats, carefully balanced to counteract the weight of the cape.
